Keeping your carpets fresh and odour free isn’t simply a matter of being house proud and maintaining a high level of hygiene in your home (lots of allergens can be found trapped in poorly cleaned carpets). It can also help to extend the life of your carpets and help to avoid or defer the cost of replacement thereby saving you money and hassle.
If you want to keep your carpets in tip top condition then you need to adopt a double pronged attack:
- Vacuum clean your carpets twice a week with a modern vacuum cleaner which has powerful suction and rotating brushes to free as much dirt and dust as possible. This will remove any loose dirt before it has a chance to become trapped deep within the carpet.
- Use a carpet washer to give your carpets a deep and thorough clean using water and detergent once every six months. This will be more effective in removing deep, trapped dirt tan vacuuming alone. Treat any accidental spills immediately before they have a chance to become established and form a stain.
It’s a pretty simple strategy which will save you money in the long run.
